Run for the latest sales!

February to me means = Fall/Winter sales – great last deals! It’s not always a great time after Holiday (yes most of people is broke because of Christmas) but it’s the best time to fill your winter closet.

My sales rules are to buy something that I won’t never buy at full price; get a trendy piece; fun pattern you won’t wear everyday; something I don’t own much in my closet, not look at all at the new collection next to the sales section… I found hard to get something I had a crush on before the sales and get it after at 50-60-70% so now I don’t really expect for anything I was looking for.

This weekend, after two hours of window shopping, my credit card swiped at Zara.

For a total of $43, I got this fun textured printed skirt and a black long sleeves top in linen with lace on the shoulders (not available online-go in stores there are still plenty). $20 each items.

The skirt has an animal print but not sure if it looks more like a zebra or a cow pattern?! If you are too scared to wear this kind of pattern, go for something that will never go out of fashion: a leopard print. Shop animal print skirts here.

You can dress up this skirt with a black sweater/top or white shirt/blouse. You can also dress down this skirt with a chambray shirt.

We saw them during the Fall 2013 runways – Chanel, Balenciaga, Tory Burch… designers featured the cutout boots.

The cutout bootie trend is an easy way to transition into the cooler months without going full-on winter snow boots. I got mine at DSW. Check out here for more options.

When I wear black and white or grey, I always prefer to wear silver jewelry, I believe it matches better than gold. This statement chain necklace is from Stella and Dot and unfortunately it’s sold out but you can find similar here. Contact me if you want this one for free. I add an S&D arm party to my wrist: the best seller Renegade cluster bracelet in silver, Gilded Arrow bangle in silver and the Jessie stretch bracelets.

Since the black and white are neutral colors, I’ll use my nails and lips as “accessories” for a pop of color and not look too boring. I’ll go for red bold lips and nails.

Lips: Givenchy Lip Liner #5 // Benefit lipstick Frenched color

Nails: Essie nail polish A List color // Sally Hansen Top Coat – Insta Dry

Zoom on my fave “Must Have” purse Makeup:

L’Oreal Pencil Eyeliner in carbon black // Maybelline concealer “Eraser dark circles Age Rewing” #40 Honey color // Make Up For Ever Mat Bronzer shade 40 // Sephora brush Pro Bronzer 48

Go – hurry up to the sales section. Happy february shopping.

Style Session: Be Bright, Be Black, Be Bold

I went shopping few weeks ago in SF downtown and I made a lovely finding. First of all, I have discovered a brand I’ve never shopped before: Club Monaco. I knew this brand but I never dare to go in because I knew it wasn’t really for my budget but that day I wanted to explore different brands and I’ve decided to go in anyway. I’m glad I did.

I found this cute little skirt for $35 only – you can shop it online here but price is higher (they had a 30% additional off)! I thought it will be more a spring/summer skirt and I’ll wear it with a white blouse or casual shirt with nude or gold flats… It’s one option.

But as it’s already Fall and I’m a black lover, I have decided to dress it up with some black and accessorize with some coral/orange notes to pop up the light orange in the skirt.

  • Mix with my new cut out booties – totally trendy,
  • A must have classic black blazer with roll up or not. Mine is from H&M, I got it 2 years ago for $50, update: SOLD OUT NOW AT ZARA,
  • A casual black sweater you can find everywhere but I have selected a J. Crew Factory one with better quality as it’s an essential piece you will wear over and over throughout several seasons,,
  • My amazing leather Satchel, I have chose this light purse to boost back the skirt, I bought it on sale few months ago at J. Crew so it sold out but for Fall/Winter they have it in black and in spice colors and there is also a mini version in black and “paprika”, love the mini version, super cute – will wait for the sales,
  • A statement necklace to dress up the outfit – the Olivia Bib Necklace from Stella & Dot Love it? Want it for free? Contact me and host a trunk show!
  • Makeup: I got this bright coral gloss from bareMinerals – well for free as it was one of the goodies at the last S&D Hoopla. I don’t usually wear gloss but I really love this one and I think for this kind of color, a gloss is the perfect option.
  • Nails: L’Orange by L’Oreal to match my necklace and my lips

Love this outfit? What do you think?

N.B: Parisians are known for wearing just black and when they are a little bit crazy they wear a pop of grey according to the comedian Olivier Giraud.
