Run for the latest sales!

February to me means = Fall/Winter sales – great last deals! It’s not always a great time after Holiday (yes most of people is broke because of Christmas) but it’s the best time to fill your winter closet.

My sales rules are to buy something that I won’t never buy at full price; get a trendy piece; fun pattern you won’t wear everyday; something I don’t own much in my closet, not look at all at the new collection next to the sales section… I found hard to get something I had a crush on before the sales and get it after at 50-60-70% so now I don’t really expect for anything I was looking for.

This weekend, after two hours of window shopping, my credit card swiped at Zara.

For a total of $43, I got this fun textured printed skirt and a black long sleeves top in linen with lace on the shoulders (not available online-go in stores there are still plenty). $20 each items.

The skirt has an animal print but not sure if it looks more like a zebra or a cow pattern?! If you are too scared to wear this kind of pattern, go for something that will never go out of fashion: a leopard print. Shop animal print skirts here.

You can dress up this skirt with a black sweater/top or white shirt/blouse. You can also dress down this skirt with a chambray shirt.

We saw them during the Fall 2013 runways – Chanel, Balenciaga, Tory Burch… designers featured the cutout boots.

The cutout bootie trend is an easy way to transition into the cooler months without going full-on winter snow boots. I got mine at DSW. Check out here for more options.

When I wear black and white or grey, I always prefer to wear silver jewelry, I believe it matches better than gold. This statement chain necklace is from Stella and Dot and unfortunately it’s sold out but you can find similar here. Contact me if you want this one for free. I add an S&D arm party to my wrist: the best seller Renegade cluster bracelet in silver, Gilded Arrow bangle in silver and the Jessie stretch bracelets.

Since the black and white are neutral colors, I’ll use my nails and lips as “accessories” for a pop of color and not look too boring. I’ll go for red bold lips and nails.

Lips: Givenchy Lip Liner #5 // Benefit lipstick Frenched color

Nails: Essie nail polish A List color // Sally Hansen Top Coat – Insta Dry

Zoom on my fave “Must Have” purse Makeup:

L’Oreal Pencil Eyeliner in carbon black // Maybelline concealer “Eraser dark circles Age Rewing” #40 Honey color // Make Up For Ever Mat Bronzer shade 40 // Sephora brush Pro Bronzer 48

Go – hurry up to the sales section. Happy february shopping.

I have tested… some Foundations

It’s not always easy to find an affordable and good foundation. And it’s always too bad to spend $10-15 for something you won’t wear or worst invest in a Dior foundation that is not fitting you.

Well I was used to my Chanel foundation for a long time but I wanted to save money on this expense so I have branched out to “lower” brand.

I have tested Fit Me Foundation from Maybelline, bad idea. It’s certainly cheap but it’s super oily and sheer, it doesn’t cover at all.

For few more dollars, I recommend the Instant Age Rewind Foundation. I have premature wrinkles, some imperfection to hide and deep under eye circles, it just does a great job to hide everything. It has a nice finish smooth and a SPF 18 to help protect the skin from sun damage, comes in 8 radiant shades. More info on it here:

Be smart and shop online, you will save few dollars on Amazon without moving from your couch:

Wrinkles Wrinkles – watch over them!

How old were you when you bought your first anti aging cream? Let me guess: too young? 🙂

Well I’m not sure if all these beauty products really work but when I talked to my beautiful co-worker; Rachel mother of 2 (including one teenager), I immediately wondered what was her beauty secret (still can’t believe her age??!!??!!!). She said anti aging creams which she strongly believes in. She uses the french brand Roc. You can find it in drugstores and guess what?! These days, there are on promo at Walgreens: Buy one and get the second one at 50% off.

Perfect! I’m running out of creams. I’m not the kind of person to store products but when it’s a good deal, I better do! Besides you don’t have to buy the same product but it’s valid for the same/lesser value so you can get the Deep Wrinkle Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 and the Night cream. Both for $35.

I have tested this brand in the past but for….. anti-cellulite treatment. I don’t think it really worked for the cellulite but it left my skin velvety soft with a pleasant fresh fragrance.

Don’t forget that the main prevention you could do best for your skin is avoid smoking and wear sunscreen faithfully!
